Well today was one hell of a day…Should have been a regular slow Tuesday…however…I get in this morning and one of my very long-term supporters tosses this on the counter folded up…as I’m unfolding it and seeing exactly what it is..( definitely the result of a a planned conspiracy..) my buddy informs me that he is on his way to a funeral and asks if I would like to break in the vest . Navy Veteran passed away from a stroke. Sure..I’ll go ..we stop to meet others at a local restaurant. Couple of folks from Space Coast Honor Flight recognize me ..pics are taken ..and off we go. When we get to CCNC ..turns out I know damn near everyone there …the vet had no family present..and yet 30-40 bikes from at least 4 different organizations..and about another 20 cars behind the bikes ..all for a vet with no family…
Dover Detail’s very first vet ,PVT Julius Thompson ( March of 21), had a VERY similar situation..how fitting this vest be handed to me on this day. I know what it took to make it..and I know who did it..and honestly..I am at a loss for words..all I can manage is Thank You…and I will wear it.proudly
Thanks to the one who got me out of the store to give me a visual reminder as to why I started Dover and why we are now assembling Uniform # 97(Which was called literally minutes after I got back. )
Once again, thanks to everyone that made today possible and a huge THANK YOU to everyone out there that supports us in what we do.It means more to me than any of you will ever know ..
Be seeing you…
